Just…
Simon and Joyce in the same production.
And that production happens to be Don Giovanni. As Don Giovanni and Donna Elvira respectively.
Not my favourite staging of DG, to tell you the truth, but HNG, these two, they are totally worth it! He was dashing and vicious and she was so deeply in love and desperate to reach his heart, just for once… (Yes, I have angsty feelings for my Mozartian Opera ships).
They need to sing together more often. Like, all the time. Well, not all the time, but most of the time. And livestream. And be gorgeous together. Yes. Good.

“Courtesy of the smashing Catherine Pisaroni, a little group shot of our time in Baden Baden. For the record, it was recorded live in concert by DG and the disc should arrive at some point in the future! CHEERS!”
WHAT
WHAT IS THIS NEW INFORMATION
… and what am I going to do about it?
Give me that Don Giovanni recording now.
PLEASE
I need it
Because of reasons
I just came back from the cinema, The Enchanted Island in HD was WONDERFUL. Truly amazing. What a show!
Every one of them, really sublime.
Especially the amazing Joyce DiDonato and Luca Pisaroni as Sycorax and Caliban. The emotion they convey in their performances is breathtaking.
Bravo!
(And Happy Birthday to Plácido Domingo who sings the part of Neptune!)
Here, Luca and Joyce posing with Thomas Hampson (when he went to see the show) in a lovely behind-the-scenes moment.
